Understanding green building fundamentals is the building block of all GPRO training; all our trade-specific courses begin here. But what if you’re not a tradesperson or building operator and would like a better understanding of green building?  This Fundamentals course explains how different systems work together to make buildings efficient, healthy and resilient, as well as where the green building industry is headed. This course is ideal for a broad audience, including real estate, architecture, engineering, building trade professionals, and students interested in a career in architecture, real estate, and sustainability.

Instructor Bio 

Diana McCarthy-Bercury


Diana McCarthy-Bercury leads Earth Forward Group’s energy, workforce development, and climate resilience practice. She has broad technical expertise in renewable energy, energy efficiency, and sustainable building performance. She has advised on energy strategy, program design, and implementation for the private and public sector. Diana's an advocate for sustainability workforce development and education. Diana previously managed Connecticut energy efficiency fund workforce development programs for the region's largest energy provider, Eversource. She is a certified USGBC GPRO instructor, BPI Building Science Principles Instructor/Proctor and A Teacher Facilitator for the US Dept of Parks and Forest Project WET and Project Learning Tree environmental education trainings. Diana holds an M.S. in Sustainability Management from Columbia University.
