A CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT CERTIFICATE PROGRAM REQUIREMENT

ONLINE TRAINING: Begins October 29, 2019

LIVE INSTRUCTOR SESSION: November 5, 2019 from 8:30 A.M.- 11:30 A.M.

Description

This workshop is designed to help reduce paper-work without jeopardizing the maintenance and importance of complete, organized and necessary records to control the construction process. This workshop will include a pre-work case study prior to the live instructor session.

 

Learning Objectives 

  • Proven methods for meeting minutes, RFI logs, information processing, PCO’s and change orders, and orchestrating the submittal process are presented.
  • Standardized forms for all elements of communication are developed. 

Instructor Bio

Robert Reihl, CHC, CIM, LEED AP, Facilities Director, Connecticut Department of Public Health Laboratory, A/Z Corporation

Mr. Reihl currently holds the position of Facilities Director, at the Connecticut Department of Public Health Laboratory, in Rocky Hill, CT. Mr. Reihl, a Project Executive with A/Z Corporation, has more than 30 years of construction industry experience across all business sectors, has played a critical role in the construction of some of Connecticut’s most complex life-science and biotechnology facilities, as well as a number of critically acclaimed science and research buildings on the state’s university campuses. Mr. Reihl is a consensus builder and an established leader, within the A/E/C community, who provides senior-level executive oversight for assignments involving planning, programming, constructing, and establishing operations, of major capital building projects. He is a Certified Healthcare Constructor (CHC) and a Certified Industrial Manager (CIM).

Training Details and Schedule

This workshop consists of BOTH online training as well as a live, in-person instructor session. Training details are below.

 

ONLINE TRAINING
  • The online training will consist of a pre-work exercise, and one recorded online module.  Participants should plan to spend approximately 60 minutes to complete the online training prior to the live instructor session. Online training opens up on October 29, 2019.  Online training needs to be completed by November 4, 2019.
LIVE INSTRUCTOR SESSION
  • The live instructor session will take place on November 5, 2019 in Hartford from 8:30 A.M. - 11:30 A.M. In-person participation is preferred, but webinar access is available for those who are remotely located.  (If you will need to participate via WEBINAR, please email ckullstroem@construction.org).

Members: $165 / Non-Members: $225

Continuing Educational Credit

Construction Institute is an AIA Registered Provider and CCM Recertification Point Provider.

 

Course attendees are eligible to receive 0.4 Continuing Education Units, 4 CCM Renewal Points and/or 4 AIA Continuing Education Learning Units, verified through certificates of attendance, which are sent to participants after completion of workshop and assessment.

 

Course attendees wishing to receive AIA Continuing Education Learning Units and/or CCM Renewal Points should check in at the sign-in desk and fill out the appropriate attendance form(s) to receive credit.
