Earlier this year the Board of Advisors along with a variety of CI Members set out to examine the Institute's Mission and Vision Statements to determine how well they fit the current organization and how they reflected the Design, Construction and Facilities Industries as a whole. The results of their efforts were presented to the Board of Directors at the Annual Joint Planning Session in August.
At that meeting the following Mission and Vision Statements were discussed and accepted. A New Tagline that more accurately reflects today's Institute was also presented and accepted, and has been put into use on Institute documents, publications, presentations and communications.
THE MISSION OF THE CONSTRUCTION INSTITUTE OF THE UNIVERSITY OF HARTFORD:
To connect the professionals who contribute to the design, construction, and operation of the built-environment and to promote mutual action to improve the delivery and management of our nation’s facilities.
THE VISION OF THE CONSTRUCTION INSTITUTE OF THE UNIVERSITY OF HARTFORD:
To be the leading knowledge network for the exchange of innovative ideas and information by creating stronger collaborative relationships between architects, engineers, constructors, owners and all industry stakeholders.
MORE ABOUT THE INSTITUTE:
In the belief that collaborative engagement is the breeding ground for growing knowledge, experience, and creative improvement in our industry, the Institute provides a neutral forum, without boundary, and a key resource for advancing ideas, knowledge, relationships and opportunities among designers, constructors, and managers.
Thru programs, workshops, and a virtual knowledge network the Institute facilitates contact between the leaders in these professions to uncover the leading-edge practices and emerging ideas that are shaping our future. We are a virtual think-tank.
The Institute provides opportunities to share information, exchange innovative ideas, and build new relationships that enhance and integrate the delivery process thru programs, educational workshops, and the CI knowledge network.
The Institute’s objective is to promote individual and firm leadership in our mutual industry.
Membership in the Institute draws from the broad base of the industry – architects, engineers, constructors, sub-contractors, building owners & managers – including the many other professionals and providers who support this core group.
Our members are the creators and caretakers of the built-environment.
