Our first major event, “Oktoberfest 2010”, was a tremendous success. On behalf of the Institute’s Fairfield County Task Force (FCTF), I would like to sincerely thank everyone who contributed and/or participated.
Over 140 CI members and their guests joined us at the Sono Brewhouse in South Norwalk where we shared an enjoyable evening of seasonal fare and valuable networking. The event offered a preview of the many opportunities ahead as we launch into Fairfield County.
Our mission is to offer the Institute’s wide variety of Industry Programs, Professional Development Workshops and Relationship Building Events to Fairfield County, making it more convenient and economical for the region’s AEC community to participate. With a continued and sustained effort we expect our Fairfield County membership to increase substantially which will in turn provide even greater networking and business building opportunities for all.
For two decades the Construction Institute, in collaboration with the University of Hartford’s Center for Professional Development, has provided continuing education to design and construction professionals. In the weeks ahead, CI will offer several of the same half-day workshops in Fairfield County that were previously offered only in the Hartford area. Some of the topics include geothermal systems, infection control risk assessment (ICRA) for healthcare design and construction, estimating, facilities construction and project management, building codes, construction management, and building information modeling (BIM). For more details, call (860) 768-5619, or visit http://construction.org/events/education-class.
On March 24th, the Fairfield County Task Force will host CI’s annual I-95 Regional Construction Forecast in Bridgeport, with other Major Industry programs to follow. We are also planning our 1st Annual Spring Social/Networking event to be held on April 14th at the Dolce Norwalk, which we fully expect to be as rewarding and enjoyable as Oktoberfest.
The Institute urges area members to get involved by joining the FCTF or one of our five committees (Marketing, Finance, Programs, Education, Membership). Anyone interested should contact me at 203-377-1300 or gperham@antinozzi.com or Rita Joy, CI’s Membership Coordinator, at 860-768-5690 or rjoy@construction.org.
Thank you for your time, effort and support! We look forward to seeing you at future CI Fairfield County events!
Sincerely,
George J. Perham, AIA, IIDA Antinozzi Associates, P.C, Chairman, CI - FCTF
