On behalf of the CI Fairfield County Task Force (FCTF), Happy Autumn! I hope you all had a great summer … despite how quickly it seemed to go by!

Autumn signals a very important part of the CI Fairfield County season – Oktoberfest!
YES … believe it or not, it is that time of year … and therefore I am reaching out to invite you all once again to our 3rd Annual Fairfield County Oktoberfest event on Thursday, October 25, at The Sono Brewhouse in South Norwalk.
Oktoberfest has been a tremendous success I thank everyone who has contributed or participated in the event.
CI members and their guests have shared an enjoyable evening of seasonal fare, invaluable networking and an opportunity to preview the many programs and events planned in Fairfield County for the upcoming season.

Since the FCTF’s first meeting in November 2009, we continue to meet regularly to discuss, strategize, evaluate and implement CI’s expansion into Fairfield County. Our mission continues to be to increase membership in this region by offering superb programs, workshops and networking events in Fairfield County , reducing the time and travel for the many AEC Professionals who want to attend these events.
Over the last three years, Fairfield County has:
- Hosted the CI Annual I-95 Regional Construction Forecast
featuring some of the most important individuals in our area – the municipal economic development leaders.
- Provided breakfast events on technology and business development
- Produced Owners Forums highlighting Fairfield County Facilities, Projects and their Design & Construction Teams
- Presented Social and Networking Events like Oktoberfest and
Spring Socials at the Dolce Norwalk
- Collaborated with SMPS-NY on think-tank panel discussions
and a tour of Chelsea Piers in Stamford
- Brought CI’s Professional Development Workshops to locations in Stratford and Bridgeport
Encouraged by our successes, we will not rest on our laurels. We are constantly meeting to review, re-evaluate, refine, and/or redefine our offerings in Fairfield County in an effort to insure that Construction Institute Programs and Events do not become old or stale.
We are looking forward to working with Maryann Dupuis, CI’s new Professional Development Administrator, to offer more workshops and deliver new continuing education opportunities to Fairfield County.
We have a new goal to engage and incorporate young professionals through the expansion of CI’s very successful Young Professionals Council, and are very pleased to have YPC veteran, Ben Woolley of Navigant Consulting, leading this effort in Fairfield County.
Again, on behalf of the Construction Institute and the FCTF, please join me in attending/supporting our kickoff to the 2012-2013 CI season at our 3rd Oktoberfest event. I look forward to seeing you there for an evening of good food, drink, networking … and a preview of what the FCTF has planned for the upcoming year.
