Project Schedule Management: From Project Initiation to Closeout

BLENDED LEARNING SESSION!

ONLINE TRAINING: Begins December 6, 2017

LIVE INSTRUCTOR SESSION: December 20, 2017 (8:30 A.M. start - 2-3 hours)

Blended Learning Session

What is "Blended Learning"?  Blended learning sessions (also known as hybrid or mixed-mode courses) are classes where a portion of the traditional face-to-face instruction is replaced by web-based online learning. This allows the participant to work through most of the training at their own pace, and according to their own schedule.

Description of this Session

Meeting the varied scheduling needs of those involved in a construction project may be the most difficult challenge we will face as we create and manage a project schedule. The project schedule must be presented in a format that clearly communicates the project goals to multiple entities. This workshop leads participants through a hands-on application based learning exercise using an example project that reflects the challenges we face when scheduling a project.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT CERTIFICATE REQUIREMENT

This workshop is the 5th of 6 workshops required for CI's Project Management Certificate program.

Learning Objectives

  • Discuss the scheduler and the tools used to create an effective schedule.
  • Discuss contractual issues to be considered when developing and managing a project schedule.
  • Become aware of common schedule manipulation tricks and ploys.
  • Use the schedule as a management tool to be proactive in avoiding potential delays and react to changes.
  • Learn to identify delays, accelerate a schedule and create a recovery schedule.
