Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA) for Healthcare Design & Construction

 

Description

This workshop will discuss the elements, requirements, and concerns for the Design and Construction professionals working in or interested in breaking into the Healthcare arena and the process of identifying risk areas and their categories, means of documentation, dust control and monitoring and daily safety logs. 
 

Learning Objectives 

  • Discuss proven methods and equipment needed to create a compliant environment for patients and construction personnel.
  • Discuss the roles of architect, PM, contractors and subcontractors regarding development and implementation of a work plan.
  • Gain a clear understanding of the role an ICRA plays in a healthcare project.
  • Learn about ICRA required documents and general conditions costs.

  

Instructor Bio

 

Mark M. DuPre’, Sr. Assoc. AIA, MCPPO, STV | DPM

 

Mark has over 32 years of experience in the Architecture Engineering and Construction industry. He has successfully planned, designed and managed projects ranging from one hundred thousand dollars to one hundred and forty million. In the last twelve years he has been a Vice President and Project Executive for STV | DPM, where some of his clients include Pratt & Whitney, St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center, The Sandy Hook School (Town of Newtown, CT) and Connecticut Children’s Medical Center. Mark’s experience and education allows him to oversee the program, plan, design and management for projects on the owner’s behalf.

 

As well, with a unique understanding from both the architectural perspective and the contractors objective. He has been awarded for his healthcare projects, academic projects, historical renovations and design expertise. Mark is also a member of the Construction Institute, a board member for the Construction Management Association of America, (CMAA) and a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA). Mark is passionate about Infection Control in Healthcare and teaches Infection Control Risk Assessment in Healthcare Construction for the Construction Institute. Mark lives in West Hartford with his wife of 30 years and has two grown children.

Continuing Educational Credit

Construction Institute is an AIA Registered Provider, CCM Recertification Point Provider and NYS approved sponsor of CE - NYS sponsor # 9040.

 

Course attendees are eligible to receive 0.4 Continuing Education Units, 4 CCM Renewal Points, 4 Professional Development Hours and/or 4 AIA Continuing Education Learning Units, verified through certificates of attendance, which are sent to participants after completion of workshop and assessment.

 

Course attendees wishing to receive AIA Continuing Education Learning Units and/or CCM Renewal Points should check in at the sign-in desk and fill out the appropriate attendance form(s) to receive credit.
