Management of Legal Exposure
Project Management Certificate Requirement
Every decision the Project Manager makes impacts a potential legal outcome!
Avoiding legal problems is far superior and less expensive than solving them after the fact.
Onerous schedule refusals, liable or negligence suits, warranty defects, labor-bargaining unit grievances or change order claims - ALL may result in huge cost impacts directly or indirectly affecting your project success. Project Managers must consider these legal hurdles before making decisions, issuing RFI's, concluding promises or demanding compliance. Owners expect the Project Manager to keep them out of legal trouble; knowledge of potential problems is the price of success.
Objectives of this Program:
(led by an Attorney specializing in Construction Law)
- Review extensive list of potential legal issues
- Case Law examples will be used as foundations for explanation of construction related legal issues
- Raise the knowledge of all attendees to enable their identification of legal problems before damage is done
Instructors:
Christopher R. Stone - Partner - Chadwick & Stone, LLP
