Building Electrical & Plumbing Systems - Part I
Elective
This course provides an overview of plumbing, fire protection, communications, and electrical systems essential for the health, safety and comfort of a building’s occupants, as well as for the operation of today’s environmentally sensitive business equipment. Reliability issues and impact of safety concerns will be reviewed. Electrical systems must be designed or modified to mitigate the effects of nonlinear loads, e.g. computers. Code considerations, practical insights, and “rules of thumb” are provided to facilitate planning, conceptual design, and budgeting.
