The facilities of large corporations and institutions are frequently developed, re-developed or managed by a dazzling array of "outsourced" managers - program managers, project managers, construction managers, client managers, MAC managers, etc. As an alternative to in-house staff Owners rely on outsourced-expertise as the backbone of their project management strategy with increasing regularity. Owner-representation is frequently a highly-complex organization... which can present challenges for project teams.

This year's Owners Forum will be a presentation by owners (and their "project management agents") focused on the owner's role in managing project delivery teams and professional consultants....You will leave this program with an understanding of new, innovative management strategies to make your agents and consultants a more effective project delivery team....and you will see what approaches should be avoided!

• How have owner strategies to organize, empower and optimize project management teams affected project outcomes?
• What has worked effectively and what has not?
• What pitfalls may be hidden in these organizational approaches and how can they be avoided?
• What are the current challenges that owners face in structuring these management teams?
• What effect does the management strategy have on the coordination with the project's retained professional consultants?

You will be exposed to the visionary ideas, methods and technologies that are emerging to improve project delivery, especially from the management point of view.

• How can owners create teams that coordinate well, work collaboratively and focus on results vs. a narrowly defined scope of service?
• How has Integrated Project Delivery (or similar transformational models) optimized the "value-proposition" of these teams of experts and professionals?
